‘Terugkeer naar de Berg’ bood 10.000 shekels aan aan iedereen die met succes een lam offert op Pesach-avond.

Hamas en andere terreurgroepen uit Gaza hebben gedreigd met geweld als een Joodse groep doorgaat met plannen om op vrijdag, de vooravond van Pesach, offers te brengen op de Tempelberg.

De ‘Terugkeer naar de Berg’ beweging, die wil dat Israël de volledige controle over de Tempelberg terugneemt, publiceerde op Facebook een geldprijs van 10.000 sjekels voor iedereen die die dag met succes een lam offert.

Al enkele jaren weigert de politie toestemming aan ‘Terugkeer naar de Berg’ om offers aan te bieden. Dit is de eerste keer dat de organisatie een aanmoedigingsprijs aanbiedt. Rafael Morris, hoofd van de beweging “Terugkeer naar de Berg”, is door de autoriteiten de toegang tot de Oude Stad ontzegd.

De groep bood ook 800 shekels aan aan ieder die met een lam aankomt, en 400 shekels aan elke Jood die gewoon op de Tempelberg verschijnt, zelfs als ze worden gearresteerd.

Ofir Gendelman, een woordvoerder van premier Naftali Bennett, tweette in het Arabisch: “Beschuldigingen dat er Joden rondlopen, die van plan zouden zijn offers te slachten op Haram al-Sharif, zijn volledig vals en zijn gepropageerd door Palestijnse terreurorganisaties en anderen om op te hitsen.”

De oproep tot het brengen van offers werd door Jordanië, de Palestijnse Autoriteit en Hamas aan de kaak gesteld.

“Wij benadrukken dat dit een gevaarlijke escalatie is die alle rode lijnen overschrijdt, omdat het een directe aanval is op het geloof en de gevoelens van ons volk en onze natie tijdens deze heilige maand,” dreigde Hamas.

In de tijd van de Joodse tempels kwamen Joden op de vooravond van Pesach in groepen bijeen om een lam te offeren, dat die avond tijdens de Pesach zou worden gegeten.

De Israëlische veiligheid is in verhoogde staat van paraatheid aangezien de moslimmaand Ramadan, Pesach en Pasen elkaar dit jaar overlappen.

‘Returning to the Mount’ offered 10,000 shekels to anyone successfully sacrificing a lamb on Passover eve.

Hamas and other Gaza terror groups threatened violence if a Jewish group follows through with plans to offer sacrifices on the Temple Mount on Friday, the eve of Passover.

‘The Returning to the Mount’ movement, which wants Israel to take back full control of the Temple Mount, publicized on Facebook a cash prize of 10,000 shekels to anyone who successfully offers a lamb that day.

For several years, police have refused permission for Returning the Mount to offer sacrifices. This is the first time the organization has offered incentives. Rafael Morris, head of the Returning to the Mount movement, has been banned by authorities from entering the Old City.

The group also offered 800 shekels to anyone who arrives with a lamb, and 400 shekels to any Jew who simply shows up at the Temple Mount, even if they are arrested.

Ofir Gendelman, a spokesman for Prime Minister Naftali Bennett tweeted in Arabic, “Allegations that there are Jews intending to slaughter sacrifices on Haram al-Sharif are completely false and have been promoted by Palestinian terror organizations and others in order to incite.”

The call for sacrifices was denounced by Jordan, the Palestinian Authority and Hamas.

“We stress that this represents a dangerous escalation that crosses all red lines, as it is a direct assault on the belief and feelings of our people and our nation during this holy month,” Hamas threatened.

In the times of the Jewish Temples, Jews would join together in groups on the eve of Passover to sacrifice a lamb, which would be eaten during that night’s seder.

Israeli security is on heightened alert as the Muslim month of Ramadan, Passover and Easter overlap this year.
