377 new coronavirus infections recorded in single day, hi ghest daily infection rate in two months as 'second wave' of coronavirus worsens.

Three-hundred-and-seventy-seven new cases of the coronavirus were reported in Israel Monday, pushing the daily infection rate to its highest level in two months.
By comparison, 556 new cases were reported two months ago, on April 22nd. The record number of new cases identified in a single day is 765, recorded on April 2nd.
According to data released by Israel’s Health Ministry Tuesday morning, the total number of cases of the novel coronavirus has risen to 21,246, with 377 new cases reported on Monday and a further 88 confirmed cases reported as of 10:50 Tuesday morning.
Of the 21,246 cases reported in Israel, 5,127 cases are currently active – up from 4,848 active cases on Monday.
Thus far, 15,812 people have recovered from the virus, while 307 people have died as a result of coronavirus infections.
In addition to the spike in the number of new confirmed infections, the percentage of people tested who were found to be infected with the coronavirus also increased, rising from 1.8% Sunday to 2.6% Monday. Of the test results received thus far Tuesday, 2.7% were positive.
Despite the increase in the daily infection rate, however, the number of serious cases of the coronavirus fell from 46 on Monday to 42 on Tuesday, with 49 more cases listed as moderate.
The number of patients on respirators also fell Tuesday, declining from 29 to 27.
