Een driejarige Palestijns kind en zijn vader zijn neergeschoten en gewond geraakt bij een vermoedelijke terroristische aanslag op een IDF-post in Judea en Samaria. Andere inzittenden in het voertuig raakten niet gewond.

De twee zaten in een auto toen terroristen schoten op de post in de buurt van de nederzetting Neveh Tzuf in de regio Binyamin.
Er zaten nog andere inzittenden in het voertuig die niet gewond raakten.
Paramedici kwamen ter plaatse en bracht het hart met een defibrillator van de jongen opnieuw op gang. Hij werd in kritieke toestand per helikopter overgebracht naar het Tel Hashomer medisch centrum. Ondertussen werd zijn vader, 40, door de Rode Halve Maan meegenomen voor verdere behandeling in een Palestijns ziekenhuis.
“We zagen de man en de baby op de stoep liggen met schotwonden op hun lichaam. We begonnen onmiddellijk met de medische behandeling, waaronder het controleren van de bloeding en het verbinden,” zei MDA senior EMT Gadi Amiton.
“Samen met de IDF Medische Teams die ter plaatse aankwamen, vochten we voor het leven [van de peuter] totdat zijn hart weer begon te kloppen. We coördineerden een ontmoetingspunt met de helikopter die vlakbij landde en die de baby in ernstige, onstabiele toestand naar het ziekenhuis heeft overgebracht.”

Paramedics arrived on the scene and restarted the boy’s heart. He was evacuated to the Tel Hashomer medical center by helicopter in critical condition. Meanwhile his father, 40, was taken by the Red Crescent for further treatment in a Palestinian hospital.
“We saw the man and baby lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds on their bodies. We immediately began medical treatment, including haemorrhage control and bandaging,” MDA senior EMT Gadi Amiton said.
“Together with the IDF Medical Teams that arrived in scene, we fought for [the toddler’s] life until his heart started beating again. We coordinated a meeting point with the helicopter that landed nearby and it transported the baby to hospital in serious, unstable condition.”
