Kishor wijnmakerij in Kishorit, Noord Israel Kishor Winery is gevestigd in de Kibutz Kishorit, een tehuis voor volwassenen met speciale behoeften. In deze gemeenschap leveren de leden een actieve bijdrage en genieten ze van belangrijk werk en activiteiten. De wijnmakerij, Kishor, is een integraal onderdeel van de gemeenschap, met vijf vaste werknemers van de Kibutz het hele jaar door en het inhuren van meer voor de intense oogst seizoen. Deze werknemers ontvangen gasten in het nieuw gebouwde, prachtige bezoekerscentrum, waar men niet alleen de wijn kan proeven die in Kishor wordt verbouwd, maar ook de heerlijke kazen, broden, koekjes en taarten die door de leden van de gemeenschap worden gemaakt. Onder leiding van Richard Davis, de professionele manager van de wijnmakerij, en Itay Lahat, oenoloog en wijnexpert, heeft het team in 2007 voor het eerst wijnstokken geplant en in 2010 hun eerste oogst binnengehaald. Voor zulke jonge wijngaarden zijn de druiven buitengewoon, ongetwijfeld het resultaat van de expertise van de heer Davis en de heer Lahat, het toegewijde werk van alle medewerkers, maar ook van het bijzondere terroir van West-Galilea, dat bijdraagt aan de kwaliteit van de druiven. Op 500 meter boven de zeespiegel beschermt de Middellandse zeewind de wijngaarden tegen de typisch hete zomerdagen van Israël, waardoor dit microklimaat overdag warm blijft en de nachten koeler. De Terra Rosa bodem bestaat uit kalksteenafzettingen die de perfecte mineralen bevatten voor het verbouwen van druiven als Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Grenache, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier en Riesling. https://www.israeliwinedirect.com/pro…

Kishor Winery in Kishorit,, North Israel Kishor Winery is located in the Kibutz Kishorit, a home for adults with special needs. In this community, the members are active contributors, enjoying important work and activities. The winery, Kishor, is an integral part of the community, employing five permanent workers from the Kibutz year round and hiring more for the intense harvest season. These employees host guests in the newly constructed, exquisite visitor’s center, where one may sample, not only the wine grown at Kishor, but also the delicious cheeses, breads, cookies and cakes all made by the members of the community. Led by Richard Davis, the Professions Manager of the Winery, and Itay Lahat, Oenologist and Wine Expert, the team first planted grapevines in 2007 and had their first harvest in 2010. For such young vineyards, the grapes are extraordinary, no doubt a result from the expertise of Mr. Davis and Mr. Lahat, the dedicated work of all the employees, but also of the particular terroir of the Western Galilee, which contributes to the quality of the grapes. At 500 meters above sea level, the Mediterranean sea breeze shields the vineyards from Israel’s typically hot summer days, keeping this micro-climate warm in the daytime with cooler nights.
